Commonwealth Games Bronze Medallist Sean Duffy officially launched the new Precor fitness equipment at the Orchard Leisure Centre recently.
The Orchard Leisure Centre was one of three facilities to benefit from a £309,000 investment by Armagh City and District Council and Banbridge District Council.
The Precor fitness equipment includes treadmills, elliptical trainers, Adaptive Motion Trainers, climbers and bikes. Some of the equipment is Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) accredited, meaning disabled as well as non-disabled people can benefit from a full body, cardiovascular and resistance-based workout.
The equipment provides a personalised fitness experience through specifically designed Preva Technology, allowing you to track your fitness progress or surf the web while exercising with an easy to use touch screen.
Sean Duffy was very impressed with the new equipment, and commented: “It is wonderful to see this investment from Armagh City and District Council in fitness.
“This state of the art equipment will enhance workouts and introduces a whole new technological aspect to working out.”
People from the local area came along to view the Visions fitness suite, get fitness advice from the qualified fitness instructors and watch machine demonstrations. To celebrate the launch special offers included, 12 months Visions membership with 2 months free, 6 months Visions membership with 1 month free and MYZONE belts reduced to £49. These special offers are available to purchase until 31st January 2015.
Armagh City and District Council Leisure Facilities Manager, Greg Ferson said, “It was great to meet with people from the local community tonight and to hear their positive feedback on the state of the art gym equipment we have installed. The Preva network will really help motivate customers to keep focused on what they want to achieve be it weight loss or pushing performance levels”
There was a raffle on the night, with the following prize winners, 1st Marie McClelland, 6 month Visions membership, 2nd Eddie Halligan, 3 month Visions membership and 3rd Michael Agnew, MYZONE belt.
