County Armagh post office targeted in early morning robbery

A post office in Tassagh was robbed by a man armed with a knife this morning.

Detectives in Lurgan are appealing for information following the incident.

At around 10am on Friday, 3 July, a man armed with a knife, entered a post office on Dundrum Road.

He made off in a blue Vauxhall Vectra with two other males with a sum of cash.

Police located the car in the Birchdale Manor area of Lurgan.

A number of houses and an area search were conducted and a sum of cash located.

Detective Constable Martin Roy said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the Birchdale Manor area between 11.15am and noon.  We are particularly keen to hear from anyone may have seen two or three men to the rear of Birchdale Manor heading in the direction of Demesne Avenue/Lurgan Park at around that time.
