A Craigavon man who threatened to burn his partner’s house out as she slept must wait until next month to learn his fate.
The 20-year-old’s barrister stated that his client did have “underlying” issues with both drugs and alcohol.
Dean Hanlon, of Inn Road, Dollingstown pleaded guilty to making threats to damage property at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Prosecution outlined that on November 11, at 3.15pm, police received a report of a domestic incident at an address on Hoop Hill Park in Lurgan.
A verbal argument had broken out between the injured party and the defendant, her partner, in which he had made a threat to burn the house out as she slept.
Upon his arrest, Hanlon admitted making these threats to the injured party.
Defence barrister Conor Lunny stated that his client did have “underlying” issues with both drugs and alcohol.
He commented that given the “domestic” nature of the offence a presentence report may be required.
District Judge Bernie Kelly agreed with this assessment adjourning the case until February 11 for sentencing.
