A Craigavon man who assaulted two others in an unprovoked attack after a night out will learn his fate next month.
Paul Moore, of Broad Oaks, pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and criminal damage at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Court heard that on May 19 at around 10.30pm on William Street, Lurgan, a fight broke out near the Batcave Bar.
The 29-year-old threw punches at two men, one of whom ended up with his glasses being damaged.
Court heard that the estimated cost of damage to the glasses was £99.
District Judge Bernie Kelly asked for an explanation for this “unprovoked attack”.
Defence counsel replied that the defendant had been out watching the football and it had been a case of “drink’s in, wit’s out”.
Judge Kelly remarked: “You can’t just randomly attack someone, and this offence is aggravated by the fact one of the victims was wearing glasses.”
She added: “There is no provocation according to the injured parties and he can’t say if there was because he can’t remember.”
A pre-sentence report was ordered into the case which will return on October 12 for sentencing.
