IncredABLE! A ‘fitting name’ for charity branded ‘extraordinary’ by Junior Ministers

Richhill based charity incredABLE welcomed Junior Minister’s Joanne Bunting and Aisling Reilly for an official visit, showcasing the organisation’s vital work across the Southern Health & Social Care Trust supporting children and adults with learning/intellectual disabilities and autism.

During the visit, the ministers toured the incredABLE facilities, met with staff and volunteers, and spoke directly with service users about the positive difference the
organisation is making to their lives and in the community.

Junior Minister Joanne Bunting said: “I have been truly inspired by my visit to IncredABLE. The dedication shown by staff and volunteers in supporting children, young people and adults with a learning or intellectual disability or autism is extraordinary.

“Their warmth and creativity create a place where everyone is valued, empowered and encouraged to reach their full potential.

“I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet some of the amazing young people and adults who attend the centre. It is clear that incredABLE doesn’t just provide services, it builds confidence, community and hope. I am so grateful for the vital work they do every day.”

Junior Minister Aisling Reilly said: “I was delighted to visit incredABLE – a fitting name which sums up the amazing work that goes on a daily basis – helping empower people with learning or intellectual disabilities and autism.

“It was truly inspiring to hear Lexi describe how he has benefited hugely from the incredABLE programmes and services and now volunteers and acts as a peer mentor within the organisation.

“It is crucial organisations like this get the recognition and support to continue their incredible work.”

Mairead McAlindan, incredABLE Chair, welcomed the visit, stating: “We are delighted to host the Junior Ministers visit today. Their visit highlights the importance of our work and helps bring attention to the challenges faced by those we support every day.”

The visit also included a discussion on key issues affecting the sector with incredABLE CEO Nigel Hampton addressing service demand levels, funding challenges, policy requirements as well opportunities for continued collaboration between government and the third sector.

incredABLE has been at the forefront of creating opportunities for children and adults with learning/intellectual disabilities and/or autism to live meaningful and empowered lives, delivering tailored programmes and services to over 600 individuals annually across the Southern Trust Area.
