A man accused of sexually penetrating a female without consent will face Crown Court proceedings in the New Year.
It was heard that all offences of which the 25-year-old is accused occurred on June 24, of 2017, with reference being made to a single alleged injured party.
Gary Kennedy, of Whitehorn Brae in Dromara, appeared charged with sexual assault by penetration, sexual assault and possession of Class B at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
As the charges were read, it was heard that all the alleged offences occurred on June 24, of 2017, with a single alleged injured party.
The defendant is accused of penetrating the vagina of the injured party with his finger and is also alleged to have touched the female in a sexual manner, both without consent.
Stood in the dock, Kennedy submitted to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there is a prima facie case to answer.
Defence solicitor Ruari Gillen made no contrary submissions.
Kennedy was released on bail to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on January 23.
