An axe-wielding man who attempted to stop traffic in Aghagallon is due to appear in court.
Police have charged a 59-year-old man to appear at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on November 30.
He is charged with with the offence of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
As is normal procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Speaking at the time, Chief Inspector Jon Burrows, said: “Courageous cops from ABC PSNI disarmed and arrested a man who was waving this axe in Goudy Bridge Road yesterday – a prompt and effective response to concerning calls we received.
“Suspect charged with possession of an offensive weapon. I work with colleagues of the highest calibre.”

And posting on their Facebook page, the PSNI in Craigavon said: “We had reports on [Wednesday] afternoon of a male trying to stop cars whilst wielding this in Aghagallon (axe pictured).
“Suffice to say, our night crews were intrigued to see if he would try to stop them too.
“It probably wasn’t his finest hour, and while he got a close up inspection of the surface of the road he may have questioned his most recent decisions in life.
“Alls well that ends well, no one hurt, no shots fired, but if you arm yourself with weapons such as this, you can expect only one response from us.
“It’s not pretty and it’s not friendly, but it is what we will do to keep ourselves and others safe. These are the consequences of carrying weapons.”
