New ‘lockdown’ barriers have been installed at Craigavon Area Hospital.
They have been put in place as part of planning in the event of an emergency or major incident at the site.
The Southern Health Trust confirmed they were part of an emergency response plan.
A spokesperson confirmed they “will be used in the event of a major incident on site to help redirect and manage traffic”.
The barriers were installed on Thursday.
The Trust – advising the public of the move via social media – explained: “Hopefully we will not need to use these in the near future but we ask for co-operation and understanding from patients, visitors and staff should the need arise.”
