Two Craigavon Area Hospital nurses are set to go on trial for the ill-treatment and wilful neglect of mental health patient.
The pair – 45-year-old Marta Bielah-Lukasik and 33-year-old Talmia Tomy appeared before Craigavon Crown Court on Thursday with both denying the single respective charge against them.
Bielah-Lukasik, of Carnreagh Park in Craigavon faces a charge of ill treating the patient while Tomy, of Princess Way in Portadown, has been charged with wilfully neglecting the same patient.
During the brief arraignment hearing both women entered “not guilty” pleas.
Public prosecutor Joseph Murphy said he would be obtaining medical reports regarding the patient’s injuries given the position taken by the defendants.
Judge Patrick McGurgan released the pair on continuing bail.
A trial is scheduled to begin on October 13.
