A person was rescued from the River Bann by police officers as temperatures dipped over the weekend.
The person, who had become distressed in the freezing temperatures, was spotted by a member of the public who offered assistance before alerting the PSNI
Police said officers were quickly on the scene and, along with the member of public and other emergency services, removed the person from the river.
A police spokesperson said: “Our officers quickly attended and along with the member of public and other emergency services removed the person from the river. With temperatures dropping there may no doubt have been serious consequences otherwise.
