Police in County Armagh have been called to the aid of medical staff for the THIRD time in a matter of days.
The PSNI in Craigavon had to rush to the emergency department at Craigavon Area Hospital on Sunday night after reports of a man acting violently and attacking staff.
And today, local police have again had to deal with abusive patients.
In one instance, they reported being called to deal with a man who had been verbally abusive, although the doctor at the receiving end did not make a complaint.
In another incident, the PSNI had to assist colleagues in the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service who with “patient who was becoming aggressive”.
Despite this, police said the medics did what they could to “help and provide the first class treatment that they always do”.
The PSNI has pledged to continue to take action against such individuals.
“We will continue to respond as quickly as we can to any reports of our NHS colleagues being abused or assaulted,” they said. “It’s not fair, it’s not right, and it won’t be tolerated.”
