Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of an aggravated burglary at a house in the Bleary Road area of Craigavon on Thursday, February 21.
At approximately 8.30pm a number of unknown men broke into a house whilst a female occupant was present in the property. On hearing the intruders she locked herself in her bedroom.
The men forced their way into the room.
On seeing there was someone in the room they attempted to leave the scene.
The woman confronted one of the males who pushed her against a wall.
A further struggle ensued where one of the men hit the woman a number of times in the face.
As the intruders fled the scene they smashed a number of windows in a car that had arrived at the property.
A phone and a small sum of cash was stolen.
This was an extremely traumatic experience for this woman, who should be able to live without fear in her own home.
Police would appeal to anyone who has any information or who may have noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area of the Bleary Road to contact detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1327 21/02/19.
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
