Craigavon police detail drug seizure, thefts and Good Samaritan robbed

* Police in Craigavon have arrested a man following the search of a house in Meadowbrook.

Sergeant Alwyn Peters, Brownlow NPT, explained: “We conducted the search of a house on Tuesday morning, 4 November under the Misuse of Drugs Act. We recovered a small amount of herbal cannabis and a 23 year old man will be reported to the PPS.

“During the search we discovered damage to an electricity meter. A 49 year old man was arrested for criminal damage and abstraction of electricity. He was later released pending a report to the PPS.

“We also recovered a small quantity of herbal cannabis in a separate search in Meadowbrook and a 22 year old man was reported to PPS.”

* Police in Craigavon are reminding the public to phone the emergency services if they need assistance.

Sergeant Alwyn Peters explained: “On Saturday, 1 November, a man called to a house in Pinebank in an upset state. The female occupier brought the man into the house and ordered a taxi for him. She later discovered that her mobile phone had been taken.

“This lady did her best to provide help to a stranger and found herself a victim of crime. If you come across someone in need of assistance please phone police or the relevant emergency service. While we all like to help we have to ensure our own safety also.”

* Police in Craigavon are appealing for information following a theft from a shed.

Sergeant Alwyn Peters, Brownlow NPT, said: “Sometime between Tuesday, 28 October and Saturday, 1 November, a shed at the side of a house in Highfield Park was entered.

“A number of items were taken including a white and black Boardman bicycle (pictured), a three tier Black and Decker tool box filled with tools, a Matbro electric drill, a blue and silver chop saw, two hammers and a Bosch green and red drill including a case.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident to contact us in Mahon Road on the 101 number.

“At this time of year, many of us are clearing our gardens and storing items away in our sheds. Please remember to lock your shed and make regular checks to ensure it remains secure.”

* Police in Craigavon have arrested a man following an attempted robbery at Clanrolla Park.

Sergeant Alwyn Peters, Brownlow NPT, said: “On Friday, 31 October, a masked male attempted to steal a van in Clanrolla Park around 7.20pm.

“We arrested a 23 year old man on Saturday, 1 November, on suspicion of attempted robbery, common assault and criminal damage. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

“If you witnessed the incident on Halloween night or have information in relation to this please contact us on 101.”
