Crossmaglen man to stand trial for Garda murder later this month

A Crossmaglen man will stand trial for the murder of Detective Adrian Donohoe later this month.

Aaron Brady, 27, from New Road is charged with the murder of An Garda Síochána Detective, Adrian Donohoe.

Det Garda Donohoe was on duty with a colleague at Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan, Co Louth, on January 25, 2013 when he was shot dead.

A jury panel of 15 people will be sworn in ahead of the trial a judge at the Central Criminal Court said on Monday.

The trial is expected to last into the New Year.

Detectective Donohoe was posthumously awarded a Scott Medal for bravery.
