The trial of a Crossmaglen man accused of murdering Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe seven years ago will begin today (Tuesday).
Aaron Brady, 28, of New Road, is charged with the murder of Mr Donohoe at Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan, Co Louth on January 25, 2013.
He is also stood accused with the robbery of €7,000 in cash and cheques at the same location on the same date.
Brady has denied the charges against him.
The extensive trial is expected to last up to 16 weeks, possibly running until late May.
The jurors in the case were sworn in at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin yesterday.
