The name Dylan Vallely will be forever etched in the annals of his former High School’s history books.
For St Joseph’s High School in Crossmaglen have named the Boys’ Sports award – which he won – after the 16-year-old star footballer, who tragically lost his life in a road traffic collision last year.
The Newtownhamilton teenager, who passed away in October, was also named his Club’s (St Michael’s) Minor Player of the Year just a week prior to his untimely death.
St Joseph’s were also delighted to present Dylan’s mum and dad with a school jersey in his honour at their annual GCSE Prize Giving event.
The school said: “Dylan designed this jersey, and many thanks to Playr-fit for making his design come to life. This jersey is a limited design and only two will be produced; one for Dylan’s family and the other will hang with pride in our school.
“To honour Dylan’s legacy the Boys’ Sports Award, which Dylan won, will now be renamed The Dylan Vallely Boys’ Sports Award.
“Dylan’s parents also accepted ‘The Paddy Short Footballer Award’ which he also won.”
Mr Burke, Dylan’s Head of Year and Mr Devlin, Dylan’s form teacher, presented the jersey.
