Funeral details announced for ‘extraordinary’ Crossmaglen man Oran Marron

Oran Marron

The Crossmaglen community will gather next week to say a final farewell to 21-year-old Oran Marron, whose sudden passing in Australia has left family and friends heartbroken.

Oran, of Rathview Park, passed away on Sunday, September 21, at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Perth, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.

A young man with a “huge passion for life” and a “great sense of humour,” Oran brought joy to all who knew him both at home and in  Australia.

A devoted son to his mother Jacqueline, Oran was also the cherished grandson of P.J. and Stacey Marron, much-loved nephew of Martin and Amanda, godson to Sean and Denise, and a treasured cousin and friend to many.

His family described him as “an extraordinary young man that had a huge passion for life, a great sense of humour, enjoying the company of his family and friends”.

“Oran was truly one in a million – forever young, forever remembered.”

Oran’s remains will repose at his home, 3 Rathview Park, from 7pm on Saturday, October 4, and throughout Sunday and Monday. The house will be private on Tuesday morning.

His funeral cortège will leave the family home on Tuesday, October 7, at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Crossmaglen, at 11am.

The Marron family have expressed their deep gratitude for the support they have received during this difficult time, and have invited those wishing to pay their respects to leave messages of condolence online.

May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
