Triumph for South Armagh’s Louise Ryan named Best Dressed at Dundalk Ladies Day

Dundalk was inundated with Style on Wednesday July 12, as the highly anticipated Dundalk Ladies Day event took place which saw droves of crowds descend on the Co. Louth venue.

Racegoers were spoiled with entertainment with an afternoon of Horse Racing and an evening of top-class Greyhound Racing.

Special guest judges including celebrity stylist Rebecca Rose Quigley and award-winning milliner Suzanne Ryan along with Karen Daly MD of 11:11 Bang on Trend Boutique, were all on hand to crown the Best Dressed Lady.

Louise Ryan from Silverbridge Co. Armagh was crowned the lucky winner on the day. It was a triple celebration for Louise who was also celebrating her birthday and had also just recently given birth to her daughter Molly 9 weeks ago.

Louise wore a stunning caped floral dress that she purchased on Vinted for only £20. Her headpiece was designed by Bespoke by Roslyn from Crossmaglen.

The lucky winners prize was valued at over €3,000 to include a two night overnight stay in a stunning suite in the Fairways hotel, along with generous vouchers and prizes from 11:11 Bang on Trend Boutique and The Gift and Art Gallery Dundalk.

This year saw the introduction of the Ladies Day terrace which entertained all the entrants. There was a “Ring here for prosecco” wall, a Tanqueray Gin cart and a 360 video booth.

Fine style and great racing weren’t the only agenda of the day with local band Vertigo on hand to entertain all racegoers both before and after the horse racing.

The evening saw 12 incredible greyhound races with the feature race being the Time Dundalk International with six of the best greyhounds from both Ireland and Britain invited to race.

After an exhilarating finish, Raha Mofo wowed the large crowd in the prestigious race, claiming victory after a photo finish with Ballinabola Ed to take the top prize of an impressive €20,000 in a time of 29:28.

The highly anticipated event did not disappoint the large crowd in attendance on the day, with activities to entertain the young and old alike.

Racegoers can get excited for Dundalk Stadium’s next big event, the Bar One Racing Family Funday Dual Raceday which takes place on Tuesday August 15.
