Ulster GAA confirm south Armagh man suspended over sexual abuse claims

A Co Armagh man was arrested on Sunday over claims of historical sexual abuse.

The 57-year-old was arrested in Crossmaglen by detectives investigating the claims against the Ulster GAA member.

The Association, in a statement released late last night, said that a member is being “investigated by statutory authorities in relation to historical safeguarding matters”.

“We encourage any member of the association, or others, who may have information in relation to these investigations to cooperate in full with the statutory authorities as part of their investigations.

“The individual in question has been debarred from all activities in the association pending the outcome of the investigation.

“As this is now a live investigation we will not be making any further comment.”

He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
