Dog owners warned to be on guard after three Loughgall incidents

A Loughgall woman has warned local dog owners to be on their guard after a number of local incidents.

She told Armagh I how two neighbours each lost dogs, one of which is blind.

One has since reappeared after a couple of days but the other is still missing.

“Both of these dogs had never left their property before,” she explained.  “The dog that is blind is still missing. He is not a young dog and never left the back yard.”

In another incident in the Loughgall area yesterday, it is claimed that a local man may have interrupted a possible attempt to steal his dog.

“He was out in his garden with his dog at around 9-9.30pm and he heard a male voice trying to lure his dog,” explained the neighbour.

“The owner grabbed his dog and went back into his house and locked the door.”

While he has no description of the person involved, the incident was being reported to police today (Sunday).

All three of these incidents happened within 200 yards – two on the Cloveneden Road and one on the Tirmacrannon Road.

The woman added: “I just want to warn people to keep an eye on their pets.

“And, if anyone has any information, please come forward to the police.”
