Double-murder trial set for Armagh

A man charged with the alleged murders of two former girlfriends is to go on trial in Armagh.

Leslie Ross, 67, from Meganlis Park, Dromore in Co Down, is accused of killing Michelle Bickerstaff in April 2012 and Margaret Weise in August 2007.

Both women were from Dromore and had been in a relationship with Ross at the time of their deaths.

The defendant pleaded not guilty at an arraignment hearing in Belfast Crown Court yesterday.

The 12-person jury is expected to be sworn in at Newry courthouse on September 14 with the double murder trial set to begin the following day in Armagh.
