After “five incredible decades at the heart of Dungannon’s bar scene”, Hagan’s Bar has announced it will be taking a short hiatus in order to begin a fresh “new chapter”.
Situated on Irish Street, Hagan’s Bar has long been a popular destination for night-time revellers, with party-goers flocking in from all over the country.
The sprawling premises had been listed for sale in January 2023 and was then purchased just over a year and a half later by Magherafelt-based Oakleaf Group for an undisclosed sum.

Now the venue announces it will be closing its doors on January 11 to “breathe fresh life into this much-loved venue”.
In a statement regarding the temporary closure, a representative for Hagan’s Bar said: “This isn’t about letting go of the past — it’s about honouring the proud legacy of Hagan’s, a family bar that has been at the centre of this town for generations.
“We’re investing in the space to create something truly legendary—a revitalised venue that continues to bring people together and paves the way for a new generation of memories for Dungannon.
“Before we take this step forward, we want to take a moment to celebrate everything Hagan’s has been to you, to us, and to this town.
“Join us for the final days of Hagan’s up to Saturday 11, share a drink and relive the memories, we’d love to see you.”
They added: “Together, we’re creating a venue that looks to the future while cherishing the best of Hagan’s Bar.”
Hagan’s Bar intends to reopen to showcase its new look in March 2025.
