A man has been charged with threatening a taxi driver with a gun in Dungannon.
The 48-year-old man is accused of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence following an incident in the town on Monday, January 27.
The incident happened in the Market Square area and resulted in several nearby streets being cordoned off as police conducted a search for the firearm.
At around 5.30am on Monday morning, a taxi driver reported that a man armed with what was described as a handgun, had pointed the weapon at his vehicle and then drove off.
Police located a suspect on Northland Row a short time later. However, a weapon was not recovered.
Police then carried out a number of searches in the area.
The suspect is expected to appear at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on February 26.
