A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting two school children in Dungannon earlier on Thursday.
The alleged incident took place in Dungannon Park earlier this morning.
It was reported shortly after 11am that a man had assaulted two schoolchildren by pushing them.
It is understood there was a larger group of school children and a teacher had to intervene.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of two counts of common assault. The man currently remains in police custody.”
6.20pm update: The 52-year-old man has been charged with two counts of common assault. He is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on 7th May.
As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
