A man was beaten with a baseball bat, tied up and left bound in his own home as raiders ransacked his house and van during a terrifying aggravated burglary in Dungannon.
Police say the ordeal unfolded in the Whitebridge Road area on Sunday night, April 5.
Detective Inspector Ryan said officers received a report at around 11.30pm of an assault and burglary at a property, which had occurred two hours earlier, at approximately 9.30pm.
It was reported the victim had been parked in his van outside his home when a white van pulled up behind him. As he got out of his vehicle, he was attacked by two men wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves.
They wrestled him to the ground and punched and kicked him to the head and body. One of the assailants then struck him with a baseball bat.
The man was subsequently tied up while the intruders ransacked both his home and van.
A quantity of cash was taken, along with keys and a mobile phone.
Detective Inspector Ryan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or who has any information, including CCTV, dash-cam or other footage, to contact us on the 101 number, quoting reference 1618 of 05/04/26.”
