Man charged following fatal single-vehicle collision in Caledon

A man arrested following a single-vehicle collision in the Derrycourtney Road area of Caledon on Saturday, April 25, has been charged to court.

The 38-year-old has been charged with a number of offences, including dangerous driving causing death, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, and driving whilst disqualified.

He is expected to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday), April 29.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The collision claimed the life of 38-year-old Emmet Potter from the Carrickmore area.

Mr Potter, son of the late Gerry and Claire, was a brother to Geraldine (Mark), Gerard (Fiona), Michelle (Brendan), Barry (Pamela) and Conor.

Following the incident, police appealed for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam or other digital footage from the Derrycourtney Road area around the time of the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1706 25/04/26.
