Man rushed to hospital following building site incident in Dungannon

A man was rushed to hospital following an incident involving heavy machinery in Dungannon this morning (Friday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident in the Meadowvale area shortly before 10am.

The Air Ambulance was despatched but was not required.

One person was taken to hospital in Craigavon after emergency services attended the scene. It is understood the incident involved heavy machinery on a building site in the area.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said one person had been taken to hospital as a result of injuries sustained.

“NIAS received a 999 call at 9.56am following reports of an incident in the Meadowvale area, Dungannon this morning,” a spokesperson said.

One ambulance crew, including a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), and Air Ambulance, with HEMS crew on board, were tasked to the scene.

“Following assessment and initial treatment one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance,” the spokesperson added.
