Multiple charges after police car allegedly rammed injuring two officers

A 27-year-old man has appeared in court on multiple charges relating to an incident in which two police officers sustained injuries when their vehicle was rammed.

Christopher Regan from Orchard Park, Aughnacloy is accused of driving dangerously and while disqualified, failing to stop for police, having no insurance, assaulting two police officers, resisting arrest and damaging a PSNI vehicle.

Offending is alleged to have occurred at Ravella Road, Aughnacloy on October 31.

A police officer aware of the facts of the case told Dungannon Magistrates’ Court the charges could be connected.

District Judge Peter Magill remanded Regan on continuing bail to return to court next month.

While no details were disclosed during the short hearing, police at the time said a black Nissan X-Trail had been spotted driving erratically in the area during the early hours of the day in question.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it failed to so, instead ramming into their patrol car

The driver was arrested and two police officers were treated for minor injuries following the incident.
