New petrol station and forecourt planned on outskirts of Killyman

Internally, there would also be a small deli, additional office space, staff room and storage area

Plans have been submitted for the construction of a new filling station on the outskirts of Killyman.

The plans were put forward to Mid-Ulster District Council in the name of Mr Trevor Laughlin.

They relate to lands 38m East of 192 Killyman Road at the junction with Far Circular Road.

Proposed development lands are currently marked as agricultural and cover an area of 0.70 hectares.

If approved the petrol station will see a sales area constructed spanning some 238.62 sqm of gross floorspace.

Internally, there would also be a small deli, additional office space, staff room and storage area.

Between staff, service vehicles and customers, the application indicates they would anticipate an approximate 522 cars to visit the site per day.

A canopy would be constructed over the pumps, of which there would be eight in total.

A total of 30 parking spaces would be constructed with three disabled bays positioned directly at the front of the store, two family spaces adjacent and additional commercial parking for goods vehicles.

The application also provides for electric vehicle charging points, air and water services and a cycle parking bay.

Entry and exit to the forecourt from Killyman Road is one way, as per plans, with a pedestrian entrance also available close to the junction with Far Circular Road.

The application also includes general landscaping and site works.

It is due to be advertised shortly.
