Praise has been heaped on a playgroup leader set to retire after 25 years.
Patricia Feeney has been with Caledon Playgroup since its inception in 1999.
Mid Ulster councillor, Frances Burton has paid tribute to the playgroup on the occasion of their 25th anniversary, and praised playgroup leader, Patricia Feeney, who is set to retire.
Patricia and her team held a heart-warming celebratory event in Caledon Community Centre recently, to mark both the landmark anniversary and the team leader’s impending retirement.
Speaking at last Thursday’s monthly meeting of the local authority, the DUP representative for Clogher Valley commented: “I want to congratulate Caledon Playgroup who celebrated last weekend 25 years, and their leader Patricia.
“She is going to retire very soon. The impact that that woman has had on that area, and the children that she has been able to nurture.
“She was there right from the get-go 25 years ago, and I think it says a lot about the work that she’s been involved in, and the real ‘feel good’ factor last weekend when they all came together to celebrate.”
Addressing the Council Chair, Cllr Dominic Molloy, Cllr Burton added: “I would really love that you would write a letter, both to Patricia and to the Caledon Playgroup for the 25 years of service in that area.”
