Granted bail, he he must not access Snapchat under any circumstances and must present his phone to police for inspection if requested to do so

Dungannon Court

A teenager has appeared in court in relation to charges of indecent child imagery, some of which dates back almost two years.

Terry O’Neill (18) from Drummurrer Lane, Coalisland faces four charges comprising two counts each of making and possessing indecent images of children.

Offending is alleged to have occurred over various dates between December 1, 2024 and February 15, 2025.

A detective constable from the PSNI Public Protection Unit told Dungannon Magistrates’ Court the charges could be connected.

No further details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged offences were disclosed during the brief hearing.

O’Neill spoke only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges against him.

A prosecuting lawyer said a full file has been requested from police and that is expected next month.

District Judge Francis Rafferty remanded O’Neill on £250 bail and he was banned from contacting a number of named persons.

In addition, he must not access Snapchat under any circumstances and must present his phone to police for inspection if requested to do so.

He is banned from having any internet-enabled device and there must be no contact with anyone aged under 16 without the approval and supervision of Social Services.

The case will return on September 25.
