Police in Armagh have arrested four people following a burglary in Richhill.
Sergeant Steven Sproule explained: “We received a report of a man acting suspiciously at a house in Millview Close around 11pm on Friday, 9 January.
The male was observed leaving the property with a flat screen television and making off in a silver Volkswagen Golf.
“We attended immediately and found that the house had been burgled. Another police crew was on patrol in the local area and stopped a silver Golf car on Corcreevy Road a short time later. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of tools were recovered. Four people travelling in the car were arrested and a television was later recovered.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance which led to the recovery of stolen property and the arrest of four people. Reducing burglary is a priority for us in our local policing plan and this shows how effective we can be when we work together.”
A 19 year old male was arrested for a number of motoring offences and going equipped for burglary, a 29 year old man was arrested for burglary, common assault and going equipped, an 18 year old female was arrested for going equipped and a 39 year old female was arrested for permitting no insurance and going equipped.
All four were released on bail pending further enquiries.
Meanwhile, police in Armagh are appealing for information following the burglary of a shed in Richhill.
Sergeant Allen Beattie explained: “Sometime during the early hours of Sunday, 11 January, a shed in Millview Park was broken into. Fishing material and a radio controlled car with accessories were taken.
“We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to the theft or whereabouts of these items and can be contacted on 101, quoting ref: 270110115.”
