A County Armagh commercial goods vehicle operator was fined a total of £1,600 at Newry Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
The charges related to an investigation by the Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) into Hughes Transport (Portadown) Ltd, 83 Coharra Road, Portadown.
Hughes Transport (Portadown) Ltd was fined £500 on two charges relating to having no valid Operator’s Licence, £500 on two charges relating to the forgery of a vehicle identity disc, £250 in respect of making a false entry on a tachograph and a further £350 in respect of causing or permitting a driver to drive without insurance.
The Court also ordered the company to pay an offender levy of £15 and court costs of £67.
