Householders urged to ‘Lighten Up’

E District’s Crime Prevention Officers are advising householders to ‘Lighten Up’.

Crime Prevention Officer for Armagh and Newry, Paula Crowe, launched the Lighten Up anti-burglary campaign with  Armagh PCSP Manager Patricia Gibson.

Paula explained: “This campaign is about empowering householders to take steps which will lessen their chance of becoming a victim of burglary.

“The message is simple – Leave a light on and keep your home safe and secure. When a house looks occupied it is less likely to be targeted by thieves and burglars.

“We have created a handy leaflet with tips and advice on protecting your home and will be distributing these throughout Armagh. Anyone who would like more information or just some advice on keeping themselves and their home safe, can contact us by phoning 0845 600 8000.”
