SDLP Westminster Candidate Justin McNulty has said the only pact he is interested in is his pact with the people of Newry & Armagh.
Launching his ‘Pact With The People’ Mr McNulty said: “Today I am announcing my PACT WITH THE PEOPLE OF NEWRY & ARMAGH which offers real progressive politics. While others spend their time waving flags at each other I will be fighting for the people on the issues that matter most to them.
“While others are intent on dragging us back to sectarian head counts, I am concentrating on unifying our people and getting on with the work that needs to be done to improve the lives of everyone in Newry and Armagh.
“The constant threat to services in Daisy Hill in Newry and the withdrawal of services in Armagh City are hitting our people hard. I will continue the fight to maintain first class health services in our constituency.
“Hard working families, the vulnerable and the elderly are constantly being squeezed and are facing the nightmare impact of Welfare cuts.
“Our young people need jobs at home and our education system needs fixed. We need real investment in our roads, rail and communications infrastructure and we need solutions to the problems facing our farmers and rural communities.”
He added: “This is the only pact people are interested in. That’s what they have been telling me on the doorsteps and across the community.
“Today I make my pact with them. I intend to make this election one that is focused on the issues impacting on the lives of hard working families, and the vulnerable in our society. I am offering real progressive politics.”
“People have the right to choose in this election. Hastily arranged marriages of convenience by unlikely bedfellows will only serve to keep us stuck in the past.
“I promise to use my seat at Westminster and represent all the people of Newry & Armagh. It’s time for a fresh approach and I am offering that to the people of this great constituency.”
