A county Armagh mother and daughter smashed their target when the Braved the Shave for charity.
Teresa Mone and daughter Donna Spence, from Keady, took on the challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
They were hoping to raise £5,000 for the worthy cause but managed to pull in an incredible total of £11,662.75 – and therefore were able to donate £1,100 to the Newry Hospice too.
“We cannot thank everyone enough for all the fantastic support we received for our head shave,” said Donna.
“The generosity was unbelievable and we’re just delighted to have been able to raise such a fantastic amount for deserving charities.
“As so much more was raised than we anticipated we decided to give some of the money to Newry Hospice.
“Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way, whether it’s family or friends, and they understand how valuable these charities are. We are delighted we have been able to help.”
