A large-scale search operation is underway in Keady this morning (Saturday).
Police, fire and ambulance crews have been tasked to the scene – as well as the coastguard – following reports a male has entered the water.
The operation is focused on the Clea and Callan Rivers in Keady and Tassagh.
A police spokesperson told Armagh I: “Police and other emergency service colleagues are currently attending a concern for safety at the Clay river in Keady on Saturday, December 30, following a report that a man has entered the water.”
SDLP councillor Thomas O’Hanlon said: “Teams of Emergency Services personnel from the Ambulance Service , Fire & Rescue Service, Police and Coast Guard are dealing with an ongoing incident in the Keady and Tassagh areas.
“They are working along the banks of the Clay and Callan Rivers.
“Please stay back and allow the teams to do their work. Thinking of all involved.”
