Centra in Keady, owned by the McGleenan family, unveiled a new look on Friday following a major £2million refurbishment.
The store and forecourt, which supports 80 jobs in the community, has been totally transformed to offer customers a bright and contemporary new layout and expanded food-to-go and grocery offering.
The store is a great amenity for the local community and the major investment has allowed for new and exciting additions.
To mark the occasion, the store welcomed pupils from Clea Primary School and St Francis of Assisi Primary School, who received £250 for each school’s funds.
Representatives from St Patrick’s High School, Keady Michael Dwyers GFC and St Patrick’s Camogie Keady, all of which the store sponsors, also attended.
Owner Francis McGleenan said: “We are very much part of the Musgrave Group and have been since 2004. The support they have given us over the last 17 years has been incredible, including during this major refurbishment.
“We are both proud and excited to unveil our newly developed store, and look forward to welcoming customers, existing and new to experience for themselves the fantastic new additions.
“We have been working hard over the past few months to bring this store to fruition and without the input and expertise of everyone involved, from Musgrave NI to Joe McGleenan at Crossmore Construction and his dedicated team of sub-contractors, this development wouldn’t have been possible.
“I’d like to thank everyone who helped, right through from architecture and design to fit out, equipment, refrigeration and alarm systems. We can now turn our focus to ensuring our customers enjoy all that is on offer as well as our great customer service.”
The modern store offers a wide range of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner including an improved and extended hot and cold deli counter, a sandwich station, a grab and go chicken range, an in-store bakery and a butchery counter. The off-licence has also been modernised.
There is also a brand new Moo’d Ice Cream counter and a Frank and Honest Coffee dock.
In addition, ‘Frankie’s Diner’ offers a range of hot take-away and sit-in food at a 50-strong seating area complete with Wi-Fi and USB charging ports.
The store also features new digital screens, energy efficient LED lighting and an energy efficient refrigeration system, as part of Centra’s commitment to sustainability.
