Recent anti-social incidents in Keady have been described as “reckless, unacceptable and deeply disrespectful to the local community.”
The recent spate of disturbances has sparked frustration and fear among residents, with calls for swift action to restore calm and safety to the area.
Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan said he has been in direct contact with police and is working alongside community leaders and residents to ensure “effective action is taken”.
“Those involved must understand that their actions have consequences — and that this community will not allow a small number of individuals to disrupt the lives of the many,” he said.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to be vigilant: “Know where your children are, and talk to them about the harm this behaviour causes. Antisocial activity is not harmless fun; it damages property, creates fear, and disrespects the entire community.”
Mr Boylan urged residents to look out for one another and report any suspicious or antisocial activity to the authorities.
“Every resident in Keady has the right to feel safe in their home and on their streets,” he added. “Sinn Féin will continue to stand with local residents, working tirelessly with the police, community groups, and statutory agencies to stamp out antisocial behaviour and build safer, stronger, and more united communities.”
