A farm in Keady became the latest target of rural thieves over the weekend.
K. Livingstone Contracts posted of the theft from the Crosskeys Road in the town on their Facebook page, in what appeared to be a very specific swindle.
“Land into work on a Monday morning to find that some dirty rotten scum has stolen the exhaust stack, silencer and other bits off the premium,” the post read.
Adding: “Along with a stabilising bar off another 69 and 2 toolboxes full of tools.”
Two John Deere Premiums were the target, but rather than steal the entire tractor, like has been the case more often than not in recent times, specific parts were systematically removed.
The owner believes the thief was probably also after an EGR cooler, adding below the original post: “If someone in the area has left a 30 series Premium with someone for repairs involving the exhaust or EGR cooler, you may know who the culprit is.”
