Thumbs up for significant new housing development in Keady

Keady housing development

Planners have given the thumbs up for a significant new housing development in Keady.

The development will see seven new detached houses erected in the edge of the county Armagh town.

The new estate will be situated on Victoria Street, between Lir Gardens and Carbry Heights.

A two-storey property and a number of outbuildings have already been demolished.

A cost of the development remains unclear at this early stage but it will represents a significant investment from the applicant J & C developments.

The seven homes will be considerable in size, each detached from the other, with associated garages.

Plans suggest the properties will each contain four bedrooms; one master bedroom with ensuite, a downstairs toilet and upstairs.

They will include a large open plan kitchen and dining room, with utility and study spaces.

Award-winning McCreanor and Co architects have been tasked with the design.

The Craigavon-based company have an impressive track record spanning over 20 years, with more recent projects including this impressive private residence in Ballymacnab.

The Keady development will be similar to their recent project on the Lough Road in Lurgan.

A start date for work has not yet been announced.
