A Keady pair who are accused of having caused grievous bodily harm to a male will face Crown Court proceedings in the New Year.
Dean Kevin Mallon, 31, of Crossdened Row, and Anne Marie Ward, 35, of Fairgreen Avenue, both appeared facing a single charge of grievous bodily harm with intent at Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Newry, on Tuesday.
As the charges were read, it was heard that the alleged offence have occurred between January 16 and January 19, of this year.
Mallon appeared via videolink from his solicitor’s office and Ward from Hydebank.
Neither defendant made an objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barristers Seamus Lannon and Conor Coulter made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Paul Copeland, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, remanded Ward in custody and released Mallon on continuing bail to appear before Newry Crown Court on January 5 for arraignment.
