The Ulster Unionist Assembly member for Newry & Armagh, Danny Kennedy MLA has expressed his delight at the electoral successes enjoyed by his Party following the Local Government Election results.
Mr Kennedy offered his warm congratulations to his Party colleagues Cllr Jim Speers, Cllr Gordon Kennedy (Cusher), Cllr Sam Nicholson (Armagh) and Cllr David Taylor (Slieve Gullion) for what he described as “their fantastic performances in the election”. He also congratulated Cllr Arnold Hatch and Cllr Doug Beattie MC on their successful election in the Portadown area which includes parts of the Newry & Armagh constituency such as Loughgall and Annaghmore.
Mr Kennedy paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of all of his colleagues and offered his commiserations to Joy Rollston who narrowly missed out in Armagh and Joshua Lowry who lost out in the Newry DEA.
Mr Kennedy thanked all of the Party workers and canvassers involved in “Team UUP Newry & Armagh” and said the result obtained by the Party was a vindication of all the hard work over many years and not just the 4 week election campaign.
Mr Kennedy also expressed his thanks to the electorate for giving his Party the increased mandate, not just in this area but also Province wide and he vowed that the Ulster Unionist representatives will serve and honour the privileges conferred on them by the electorate and continue to “Do What’s Right for Northern Ireland”.
