Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy has today accompanied the families of the victims of the Kingsmills Massacre to a meeting with the Secretary of State.
Following the meeting at Hillsborough Castle, Mr Kennedy said:
“The meeting was a frank and forceful exchange of views regarding a range of matters.
“At the outset I took the opportunity to once again highlight the plight of the families of the ten workmen murdered at Kingsmills in January 1976.
“In light of the recent revelations about successive British Governments’ secret deal on comfort letters for on the runs, I have demanded the Secretary of State revoke the letters and publish the names of those who received them.
“I have further sought confirmation if any of the suspects in the Kingsmills massacre had received any such letters and if any letters were issued in relation to any of the 160 plus murders in the south Armagh area during the Troubles.”
