THE Clady play park project has moved a significant step forward with agreement from the Housing Executive to lease the potential site of the new park to Armagh City and District Council.
And local Sinn Fein Councillor Mary Doyle says she is “delighted” the lease has been agreed by the council’s executive committee.
“It has taken a long time to reach this stage and I hope that now things can progress quickly so that the young people of Clady finally get the play facility they deserve,” she told Armagh I.
“Now that a suitable site is being secured I will continue to work with the Clady community to secure the remainder of the funding required to develop this project.”
The decision to lease the site from the Housing Executive must now be ratified at Armagh Council’s statutory meeting.
But Councillor Doyle is confident that it will be approved.
“I am sure that Armagh City and District councillors en masse will see the merit in this case and that they will enable the play park project to progress to the next stage,” she added.
