Lurgan Police Station

A 15-year-old boy is among three people arrested by counter-terrorism detectives investigating an attack on Lurgan Police Station in March.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit detained a 48-year-old man and the teenage boy in the Lurgan area on Wednesday, May 6, under the Terrorism Act. Both have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite in Belfast for questioning.

A 39-year-old woman was later arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, obstructing police and assisting an offender. She was also arrested in the Lurgan area, where a number of searches are continuing.

The arrests follow what police described as a “cowardly and widely condemned attack” on Lurgan PSNI station on the night of Monday, March 30.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “This cowardly and widely condemned attack, which took place on the night of Monday 30 March, put innocent lives at risk.

“I’m keen to offer assurance that we will continue in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice, and would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 1828 of 30/03/26.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
