Community search organised for missing Gilford woman last seen in Lurgan

An urgent appeal for community support has been launched to help increase search efforts to find a missing Gilford woman.

The young woman known as Caitlin was last seen on Saturday (January 31) at approximately 12.30pm in the vicinity of Lurgan Park, near Derry Street.

Police say she was wearing a grey Regatta jacket and black leggings.

Since then her parents, family and friends have issued constant appeals for information online. It is understood none have received any contact from Caitlin since Saturday.

One friend of the family urged: “My friend’s daughter Caitlin has been missing from Saturday she was last seen in Lurgan park.

“If anyone knows anything about her whereabouts are have seen her on Saturday or since Saturday PLEASE no matter what let us know.

“NOTHING happens in Lurgan without half the town knowing so someone somewhere has seen or spoken to her. Please check your house and business cameras, ring doorbells, your dash cams even if you have walked the park, taken photos of scenery or taken selfies please, please check them.

“We can’t imagine why she would not want to go home but if this is the case someone anyone at least let us no she is at least ok.

“Her mum and dad are out of their minds sick with worry. They just need to no their daughter is ok why is that so hard?”

Caitlin’s mum posted an update less than 24 hours ago to say police had “elevated her case to high risk” and pleads “please everyone look out for my baby.”

A search has now been organised to take place tonight (February 5) in Caitlin’s hometown of Gilford, a total of five days since she was last in contact.

The meeting will take place at Changing Lives NI support hub at the Riverside Mall at 6.30pm.

All are encouraged to attend.

Police in Lurgan are asking anyone who may information to make contact on 101 quoting reference 27-02/02/26.
