Craigavon’s Aoibhe loves busking and raising money for charity!

Aoibhe is also hosting a special 'Musicfest' event in Lurgan with a whole host of local talent lined-up

A talented young Craigavon musician is preparing to host a charity busk this summer in aid of Evora Hospice.

Aoibhe McCracken loves to sing and play trad instruments – whistle, pipes and fiddle.

She also loves to sing ‘as gaelige’ and raise money for charities!

In the past year she has collaborated with friends to raise over £1,300 for Alzheimers and now she’s on a mission to bring in a further £1,000 for Newry’s Evora Hospice.

Of her recent mission, Aoibhe said: “I love busking and have decided that I’d like to charity busk this summer as I’ve been offered a permanent slot at the Boulevard.

“Evora Hospice Care is my chosen charity – they have to raise 2/3 of their running costs through charity fundraising and I’d love to help them achieve these goals.”

Over the course of the summer holidays Aoibhe will be out and about with her charity buckets on each and every busk.

She will also be holding a ‘Musicfest’ on Saturday, August 15 at Clan Na Gael, Lurgan from 7pm featuring a whole host of talented local musicans led by Comhaltas Clanbrassil.

They will also hold a raffle on the day with top prizes up for grabs!

“If you can come along on the night, I’d love to see you there. If not, you can support my fundraising activities through this Crowdfunder appeal,” said Aoibhe.

“Please help me raise as much as we can for Evora Hospice!”

She started with busking in Belfast last week where she raised £304 and also has a slot secured at Wake the Giant to try and raise more funds too.
