The family of murdered Lurgan woman Natalie McNally have publicly distanced themselves from a documentary project said to be filming in the town next week.
In a post shared on social media, Natalie’s father, Noel McNally, said the family had been made aware of a film crew planning to come to Lurgan to make a documentary about his daughter’s murder – but stressed that they will have no involvement with it.
He wrote: “We the family of Natalie McNally have became aware of a documentary film crew coming to Lurgan next week to make a documentary about the murder of our beloved Natalie.
“We as a family have nothing to do with this and won’t [be] cooperating with this in any way. Please share this.”
The post has since been widely circulated online, with local people expressing support for the family and calling for their wishes to be respected.
Natalie, who was 32, was 15 weeks pregnant when she was killed at her home in Silverwood Green, Lurgan, in December 2022.
Earlier this year Stephen McCullagh was given a life sentence after a jury unanimously found him guilty of Natalie’s murder.
McCullagh was told he will serve a minimum of 31 years in prison before ever being eligible for parole.
