Police are investigating an alleged assault on a female dog walker this morning (November 18) near Lurgan Park.

It is understood the female had returned to her car parked on Windsor Avenue after walking her dogs when a man allegedly entered her car through the passenger side door and assaulted her before she managed to “fight off” the individual.

The man is described as being in his 30s, wearing a black puffer jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

The woman’s mother took to social media following the incident to issue a “warning” to women and girls in the area.

She said: “…Police have been notified but there’s no CCTV footage. This creep has probably got away this time but we’re worried that he might do this or something worse again.

“Please be careful this was in broad daylight when there were people about.”

Upper Bann MLA Carla Lockhart described the incident as “very concerning” and is attempting to speak directly with the woman involved.
